Ongoing Flower Care
Once your flowers are arranged and on display, a little regular attention will keep them looking their best for much longer.
Daily & Ongoing Care
Remove Fading Blooms
Remove blooms as they fade — a process known as "dead heading". As well as keeping the display looking clean and fresh, this also encourages further buds to open in certain varieties of plants.
Keep Water Fresh
Vases should always be kept topped up with fresh water. If the water becomes warm or if the room temperature is hot, replace the water every day to minimise stem rot. When replacing flowers in the vase, cut ½ inch from the stem to maximise water intake.
Mist Your Flowers
Spraying fresh flowers with a fine mist of water daily helps keep petals hydrated and vibrant. This is particularly beneficial in centrally heated homes where the air can be very dry.
Add Flower Food
When replenishing water, add flower food for best results. Follow instructions carefully when adding flower food to already prepared solutions — don't exceed the recommended concentration.
